Judge Joseph Donofrio played an integral role in the long-term alcohol recovery services provided at Meridian today. In 1966, he created a program for individuals facing legal consequences due to repeated alcohol-related incidents. This program allowed individuals struggling with alcoholism to enter Alcoholics Anonymous in place of jail time. Through this program, the Donofrio Home Halfway House was established and became part of Meridian HealthCare in 2005.
The First Annual Judge Joseph Donofrio Memorial Golf Outing follows a standard four-man scramble format (proper golf attire required).
