Outpatient Treatment Program: Addiction and Mental Health

Meridian’s comprehensive outpatient treatment program helps you navigate the recovery process toward sober living while remaining at home. Our experienced staff works with you, using evidence-based interventions geared toward true recovery!

Is Outpatient Care Right for Me?

If you have a drug or alcohol addiction and want to stop using, you may be eligible for an outpatient rehab program (depending upon the intensity of services needed). You don’t have to go it alone; Meridian is here to help.

Outpatient programs for alcohol treatment and drug addiction are best for those who need help in their recovery process but do not need inpatient care. Patients in outpatient treatment programs still attend work or school while receiving treatment services. Inpatient rehab and detox, by comparison, provide 24/7 care and medical assistance for more structured treatment and/or intense withdrawal symptoms.

Please contact Meridian HealthCare for a free, confidential consultation. An assessment counselor will meet with you to discuss your situation and provide treatment options that meet your particular needs.

Taking Steps Toward Recovery

Before outpatient drug rehab can begin, an assessment will be conducted with you and/or your loved one and a licensed counselor
within Meridian HealthCare’s Assessment Department.

Our assessment is a vital part of treatment and ensures admission to the appropriate addiction treatment program. The welcoming staff
at the Meridian Road Campus or the Warren Office location will guide you through the process.

Scheduled Appointments and Walk-Ins Welcome

Meridian offers walk-in assessments and scheduled appointments.

Walk-ins are offered Monday-Friday 8:00 am–1:00 pm at our Meridian Road location.

At our Warren office, walk-ins are welcome Monday-Friday 7:00 am–1:00 pm. Walk-ins are first-come, first-serve.

The assessment is a conversation between you, the assessment counselor, and your family member (if applicable) to better understand your concerns.
As an alcohol and drug addiction treatment center, our counseling services utilize a person-centered approach that prioritizes non-judgment,
non-discrimination, and personalization.

Outpatient Treatment Programs

Meridian’s highly qualified counselors offer a variety of outpatient treatment programs because every client is in his or her own unique situation. Options include the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), substance abuse education, and individual counseling. Most addiction treatment plans involve detoxification, help with withdrawal symptoms during detox, education, support, and individual therapy sessions

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

This program assists individuals by providing education about the addiction process and promoting abstinence with the development of a sober recovery support system. IOP includes individual and group therapy, case management, and random drug screens.

Day and evening IOP sessions are available.

Substance Abuse Education

This program educates about substance use, abuse, and dependency while promoting healthy lifestyles and positive choices. Substance abuse education is delivered in group and individual settings and also includes random drug screens.

Day and evening times are available.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is determined on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the individual’s need and presenting condition. Individual therapy and mental health services can include psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family therapy.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, almost 40% of adults with substance use disorder also have another mental health disorder. Addiction treatment providers should also address the co-occurring illness.

FAQ About Outpatient Drug/Mental Health Treatment

The length of outpatient services provided is determined by the individual’s needs and the level of care at which they are admitted.

Meridian HealthCare accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and self-pay based on a sliding fee scale according to your income. There is a limited amount of funds available for residents without a payer source, based on their location.

Outpatient treatment is offered via individual and group sessions available at various times throughout the day and evening. We make every effort to give each individual a schedule that meets his/her needs.

The frequency of services is based upon a thorough clinical assessment, which will take into account your individual needs and the challenges you’re facing.

Meridian’s employees are among the most qualified counselors in the area. All of Meridian’s counselors in the outpatient treatment center have their master’s degrees along with other top certifications.
