Children’s Mental Health Services and Wellness Resources

Addiction Treatment and Prevention

Meridian covers the full spectrum of options to help effectively treat addiction while also addressing underlying causes. Treatment services can include low-intensity educational groups, outpatient treatment, relapse prevention (aftercare) and drug testing.

Low-Intensity Educational Group Therapy

Our low-intensity program consists of an eight-week educational series for young people at risk for substance abuse and behavior and emotional problems. Group topics include anger management, making personal changes, self-esteem building, improving coping skills, building healthy relationships, relapse prevention and more.

Outpatient Treatment

Intensive group programming consists of 24 day treatment sessions and is designed to provide the flexibility that our youth, caregivers and families need. (Aftercare is provided after completion of the outpatient treatment program.)

Outpatient treatment includes individual and group counseling, educational sessions, family therapy/support and drug testing. Group topics include relapse prevention, drug and alcohol education, recovery plan development, improving coping skills, building healthy relationships and more.

Relapse Prevention/Aftercare

Meridian’s holistic system of care includes aftercare services for young adults in the recovery process (once a higher level of care is completed). The group consists of six to eight weeks of group counseling, along with individual and family counseling services and drug screening. When necessary, referrals back to a higher level of care may be made.

Drug Testing Services

Meridian offers comprehensive drug and alcohol testing services for adolescents. Tests can be performed on-site by our medical personnel or at your home by using an instant screening kit.

If you or a loved one are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 911. For non-crisis services, or to speak with someone about the youth services offered through Meridian, reach out today: 330-797-0070.

FAQ for Children’s Mental Health and Wellness Services

Meridian accepts Medicaid, private health insurance, and self-pay, which is based on a sliding scale according to your income eligibility. There is a limited amount of funds available for patients without a payer source, based on their location.

Meridian’s treatment team is led by both addiction and mental health professionals with advanced degrees in their fields. Participants in Meridian youth and young adult programs have full access to primary care and psychiatric services, too – which can include physicians, nursing staff, chiropractors, licensed counselors and more.

Parents and families also need resources to help them deal with the addiction or other problems their adolescent is going through. Meridian offers a number of different services and tools for parents and other family members, including family groups, mental health counseling and other support.

Community-Based Services:
Young Adult/Child Mental Health and Support

We understand that your child’s care and wellbeing is a top priority. Mental illness, pain, addiction and overall wellness don’t have to be concerns that you and your family have to manage alone.

Meridian’s qualified, compassionate team is committed to making a lasting difference, whether your child is dealing with a substance use disorder or could simply benefit from the oversight of a health system focused on whole-person care. Since the pandemic’s onset, telehealth services may also be available (as appropriate), too.
